Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate in the Indirect Tax – Customs Advisory team with 1–3 years of experience to join their Delhi office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft legal opinions and advise clients on issues under the Customs Act, 1962, and related laws.
- Advise on the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, Foreign Trade Policy, and allied legislations.
- Handle matters under SEZ laws, PMLA, BIS Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and Legal Metrology Act.
- Draft and file submissions before the Special Valuation Branch of Customs.
- Prepare replies, submissions, and applications during investigations.
- Analyse recent judicial pronouncements relevant to indirect taxation.
- Review notifications, circulars, public notices, and trade notices issued by relevant ministries.
- Prepare legal updates and client communications.
Eligibility
- Chartered Accountant or Law Graduate from a reputed law school with a strong academic record.
- 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax.
- Prior experience in GST and/or customs is preferred.
