Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax – Litigation with 1–4 years of experience to join its Hyderabad office. The role involves assisting clients in indirect tax litigation matters, including GST and customs, and supporting representation before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist clients during enquiries, investigations, and audits conducted by tax authorities.
- Prepare replies to show cause notices and audit communications.
- Attend hearings and meetings with tax officers as required.
- Prepare tax appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals).
- Prepare appeals before judicial forums, including Tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
- Assist seniors in representation before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
- Conduct comprehensive research on indirect tax and related legal issues.
- Handle tax matters relating to preparation of submissions, replies, and appeals for multiple clients.
- Assume near-independent responsibility for smaller clients and develop rapport with client management.
- Stay updated on developments in tax and allied laws and contribute to knowledge management activities.
Eligibility
- Qualified CA or LLB.
- 1–4 years of experience in indirect tax matters, including GST and customs.
- Strong legal research and drafting skills.
