Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan attorneys is hiring for the position of Associate - Indirect Tax Litigation with 2-3 years of experience to join their office in Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

Litigation & Representation

• Draft replies to notices, audit reports, and show cause notices.
• Prepare appeals before Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
• Assist in client representation during investigations, audits, enquiries, and hearings.
• Coordinate with tax authorities and attend hearings with seniors when required.
• Support senior advocates and partners during court appearances.

Research & Advisory

• Conduct in-depth legal research on indirect tax issues.
• Stay updated with evolving tax laws and judicial pronouncements.
• Assist clients in responding to departmental queries and notices.

Client Management

• Independently manage assignments for smaller clients and support execution for larger accounts.
• Proactively identify technical and risk-related issues and communicate them to the team and clients.
• Build and maintain rapport with client representatives and assist in delivering high-quality service.

Business Awareness & Knowledge Development

• Stay informed of business trends, legal developments, and competitive landscape.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and development initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for value addition in client engagements.

Eligibility

• Experience: 2–3 years PQE in Indirect Tax (GST, Customs, etc.).
• Qualification: LL.B. from a reputed law school with a strong academic record.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
