Details of the Job/Internship

 Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 1–3 years of experience to join their Prayagraj office. The role involves assisting clients during searches, investigations, and audits, preparing replies to show cause notices, appearing before tax officers, drafting tax appeals, and assisting seniors in hearings before departmental authorities and courts.

Role and Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
• Handle tax matters including submissions, replies to notices, appeals, meetings with tax authorities, and representation during appeals along with seniors.
• Take near independent responsibility for smaller clients while executing work across multiple client bases.
• Develop rapport with middle management of clients.
• Stay updated on firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as business trends, and apply this knowledge to deliver solutions.
• Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate them to seniors.
• Network internally to understand issues impacting clients.
• Mentor and guide junior associates.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in tax and other laws.
• Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management activities.

Eligibility

• Law graduate with good academic background.
• 1–3 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, and Customs.
• Experience in assisting clients during searches, investigations, and audits (required).
• Experience in preparing replies to show cause notices (required).
• Experience in meeting tax officers for appearances (required).
• Experience in preparing tax appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunal, and Courts (required).
• Experience in assisting seniors before departmental authorities and courts in medium/heavy matters (required).
