Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 0–2 years of experience to join their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle tax matters including preparation of submissions, replies to notices, and appeals.
- Assist seniors in representation before tax authorities and appellate forums.
- Conduct legal research and analysis of statutory provisions.
- Draft legal opinions, advisories, and compliance reports.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
- Analyze client data to assess tax implications on business transactions.
- Contribute articles, monographs, and other thought leadership materials.
- Identify and discuss technical issues with clients, ensuring awareness of firm risk factors.
- Manage smaller clients independently and build rapport with client management teams.
- Stay updated on tax laws, circulars, notifications, and judicial decisions.
- Mentor junior associates and assist them in their assignments.
Eligibility
- CA or LLB with a strong academic background.
- 0–2 years of experience in indirect tax, including GST and Customs.
- Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and deliver quality work.
