Details of the Job/Internship

Aeka symbolises is hiring for the position of Associate - Indirect Taxes with 0-3 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Advisory & Research

• Draft technical notes, legal opinions, and client memos on GST, Customs, and FTP.
• Analyze statutes, circulars, and case laws, and translate them into practical guidance.

2. Litigation Management

• Draft replies to notices, appeals, and writs; assist in GST audits.
• Represent clients before GST authorities, including DGGI and appellate bodies.

3. Tax Due Diligence & Transaction Support

• Conduct indirect tax reviews during deals and corporate restructurings.
• Identify risks, exposures, and provide actionable solutions.

4. Compliance Management

• Review GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C, and other filings; manage reconciliations and refunds.
• Handle GST registrations and day-to-day compliance.

5. Client & Internal Coordination

• Manage client communication and deliverables end-to-end.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure quality and timely outcomes.

6. Knowledge Building & Sharing

• Draft client alerts, internal updates, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Participate in and conduct webinars, case law discussions, and tax training sessions.

Eligibility

• Solid grasp of GST law; exposure to Customs, FTP, or SEZ regulations is a plus.
• Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Effective communicator with excellent presentation abilities.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Prior experience (internships or full-time) in consulting or indirect tax is a bonus.

Salary/Stipend
