Details of the Job/Internship
Kunal Khanna & Co. is hiring an Associate – IPR and Civil Litigation with experience of 2–5 years to join their office in Jangpura, New Delhi. The role is litigation-focused with a strong emphasis on IPR litigation and general civil litigation, requiring candidates to independently handle matters, support strategy, and manage day-to-day litigation work, including coordination with junior team members. Immediate joining is required and the role is on-site.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft and file plaints, written statements, injunction applications, interim applications, replies, rejoinders, and other pleadings in IPR and civil litigation matters.
- Handle core civil litigation work including procedural strategy, court filings, limitation tracking, and compliance with timelines.
- Manage day-to-day conduct of matters including case preparation, brief compilation, document organization, and maintaining structured litigation files.
- Attend hearings, assist seniors/counsel, and contribute to litigation strategy.
- Coordinate with and guide junior associates/interns on drafting, filings, and research tasks.
- Supervise internal case workflow to ensure timely filings, registry follow-ups, and proper record management.
- Assist in counterfeit enforcement actions including preparation of search and seizure requests and coordination with enforcement agencies.
- Handle online brand protection and digital enforcement including notice-and-takedown actions on digital platforms.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case notes, briefing notes, and strategy summaries.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognized university.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience with strong grounding in general civil litigation and exposure to IPR litigation.
- Ability to independently handle drafting, filings, and hearing preparation in civil and commercial matters.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including managing junior associates and reviewing work.
- Strong drafting and legal research skills with attention to detail and procedural discipline.
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to client and court coordination.
- Mandatory on-site presence.
