Details of the Job/Internship
Capital Law Chambers is hiring a Junior Associate with experience of 1–2 years to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the end-to-end management of litigation matters, with a predominant focus on tax law.
- Conduct exhaustive legal research on precedents, statutes, and complex tax regulations.
- Prepare high-quality sample drafts, including petitions, affidavits, and written submissions.
- Attend court proceedings and assist in the day-to-day management of case files.
- Develop a deep understanding of local court practices and procedural mandates in Chennai.
- Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to coordinate case strategies and filings.
- Take ownership of diverse legal assignments to broaden expertise beyond core tax litigation.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Approximately 1–2 years of litigation exposure as a graduate or through serious internships.
- Candidates with a strong interest in litigation may apply even if they do not fully meet the experience requirement.
- Reasonable understanding of court practice and procedural laws.
- Excellent legal drafting and research capabilities.
- Preference for candidates currently based in Chennai or those willing to relocate.
- Must demonstrate a genuine interest in litigation and a professional work ethic.
