TamilNadu NRI Legal Services is hiring an Associate Lawyer to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- The Associate Lawyer will be responsible for handling legal matters for non-resident Indians, providing expert legal advice, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings.
- The role requires direct client interaction, case management, legal research, and participation in dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation processes.
- Provide legal consultation and advisory services to NRI clients.
- Handle cases related to property disputes, family law, inheritance, and civil litigation.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, wills, and agreements.
- Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and arbitration proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies for legal matters.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide case updates.
Eligibility
- LLB degree from a recognized institution.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council and licensed to practice law in India.
- Strong knowledge of Indian law and legal procedures, especially in Tamil Nadu.
- Experience in handling legal matters for non-resident Indians (NRIs) is preferred.
- Expertise in family law, property law, and civil litigation is highly desirable.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Tamil and English (additional languages are a plus).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure while managing multiple cases.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and case management software.
- Prior experience representing clients in High Court of Madras or other courts.
- Familiarity with taxation, estate planning, and corporate legal matters is advantageous.
- Experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including arbitration and mediation.
Salary/Stipend
