Details of the Job/Internship
Swiss Re is hiring an Associate Legal Counsel with 8–12 years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Bengaluru under a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office per week.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal guidance relating to Swiss Re’s business activities across India.
- Handle governance matters and support the Bangalore Legal Head and Company Secretary in corporate governance initiatives.
- Manage corporate legal affairs, including corporate filings and interactions with statutory authorities.
- Address employment matters by providing legal advice and support.
- Draft and review contracts, petitions, and legal notices.
- Support internal investigations and manage litigation in coordination with law firms, auditors, and consultants.
- Monitor regulatory developments and analyze their impact on business operations in India.
- Contribute to regional initiatives as part of the APAC Legal and Compliance team.
Eligibility
- India-qualified lawyer with 8–12 years PQE, preferably registered with the Bar Council.
- Experience in corporate governance, statutory compliance, and employment law matters.
- Proven ability to draft and review contracts, petitions, and legal notices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; local language proficiency preferred.
- Experience in managing litigation and coordinating with external stakeholders.
- Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry will be preferred.
- Prior experience in a multinational corporate environment will be preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting financial services in India will be preferred.
- Experience in handling employee litigation and labour law matters will be preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
