Details of the Job/Internship

Swiss Re is hiring an Associate Legal Counsel with 8–12 years of post-qualification experience to support its Global Business Solutions Centre in Bangalore and Hyderabad, with occasional support to Mumbai operations. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support across business activities in India, requiring strong technical expertise and commercial judgment, and contributing to regional initiatives as part of the APAC Legal & Compliance team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance on business activities across India.
• Handle corporate governance matters and support corporate governance initiatives.
• Manage corporate legal affairs, including statutory filings and interactions with authorities.
• Advise on employment law matters and employee-related legal issues.
• Draft and review contracts, legal notices, and other legal documents.
• Support internal investigations and manage litigation in coordination with external advisors.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
• Contribute to regional legal and compliance initiatives within the APAC team.

Eligibility

• India-qualified lawyer with 8–12 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in corporate governance, statutory compliance, and employment law matters.
• Ability to draft and review contracts, petitions, and legal notices.
• Experience in managing litigation and coordinating with external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bar Council registration is preferred.
• Experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector is desirable.
• Experience in a multinational corporate environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of financial services regulatory frameworks in India is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong cross-cultural communication skills.

Salary/Stipend
