Details of the Job/Internship

Artha Group is hiring an Associate – Legal with experience of 4+ years to join their team in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves providing internal legal advisory support to ensure investment decisions align with corporate governance best practices. The Associate will prioritise and structure legal matters to optimise leadership time, operate under tight deal timelines, and act as a trusted legal partner in investment negotiations to ensure favourable and risk-mitigated contractual outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide internal legal advisory support for investment decisions and corporate governance matters.
• Prioritise and structure legal issues to ensure leadership focuses on critical legal decisions.
• Manage transactional legal processes under tight timelines with speed and precision.
• Support and participate in investment negotiations to safeguard Artha’s interests.
• Review, draft, and negotiate complex venture capital and corporate finance documentation.
• Identify contractual risks, close loopholes, and enforce strong investor protections.
• Operate effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced investment environment with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Eligibility

• LL.B or LL.M from a recognised law school.
• Bar admission (LLP required) to practise law in India.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance legal work.
• Deep expertise in venture capital transactions, including SHAs, SSAs, convertible notes, and investment rights.
• Proficiency in contract negotiation, investment structuring, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong business writing skills with the ability to draft precise and enforceable legal documents.
• Highly structured, execution-driven, and detail-oriented approach to legal risk management.
