Artha Group is hiring a Legal Associate with 4+ years of experience in venture capital or corporate finance law to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate, and finalize SHAs, SSAs, and other investment-related agreements.
• Ensure investor rights and protections are secured in all negotiations.
• Collaborate with investment teams on legally compliant transaction structuring.
• Coordinate with external counsel on complex deal structuring and governance matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate service-level, commercial, and vendor contracts.
• Conduct legal due diligence to identify and mitigate contractual and business risks.
• Maintain a legal tracker for ongoing matters, filings, and compliance obligations.
• Support litigation follow-ups with external teams when required (no court appearances).
• Identify and manage legal risks associated with investments and fund operations.
• Ensure governance best practices in investment decision-making.
• Prioritize legal matters to optimize leadership time and support high-pressure deal timelines.
• Act as a legal partner in investment negotiations to ensure favorable and risk-free terms.

Eligibility

• LL.B or LL.M from a recognized law school.
• Bar Admission required to practice law in India.
• 4+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance legal work.
• Expertise in SHAs, SSAs, convertible notes, and investment rights.
• Strong contract negotiation and legal drafting skills.
• Highly detail-oriented, structured, and risk-focused.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-intensity investment environment.

Salary/Stipend
