Details of the Job/Internship
SkillLabs is hiring an Associate – Legal (LAP Mortgage) with 2–5 years of experience to support its Loan Against Property business in an NBFC environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Vetting and scrutinizing property documents for residential, commercial, and industrial mortgages.
- Conducting legal due diligence and issuing title clearance reports.
- Ensuring compliance with property laws, RERA, stamp duty, and registration requirements.
- Coordinating with empaneled advocates for search reports and legal opinions.
- Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing mortgage deeds, NOCs, and loan-related documents.
- Providing legal support during loan sanction and disbursement.
- Ensuring compliance with RBI guidelines and NBFC regulations.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks in mortgage lending.
- Liaising with internal teams and managing relationships with external legal vendors and authorities.
Eligibility
- LLB is mandatory.
- 2–5 years of legal experience, preferably in an NBFC, bank, or law firm handling secured lending or LAP matters.
- Strong knowledge of SARFAESI, IBC, RERA, Transfer of Property Act, Registration Act, Contract Act, and Companies Act.
- Good drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
