Details of the Job/Internship
Sony Pictures Networks India is hiring an Associate–Legal with 3–5 years of experience to join its Mumbai office (work from office). The role reports to the Senior Lead Counsel – Licensing, Distribution and Legal Enablement under the Legal and S&P division. The position involves providing legal support across licensing, distribution, content rights management, regulatory, and commercial functions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the full cycle of content licensing (acquisition and outbound), due diligence, rights management, and exploitation across platforms.
- Manage music rights transactions including acquisition, licensing, and compliance with industry norms.
- Provide legal support for domestic and international distribution, including affiliate and monetization agreements.
- Offer legal assistance for channel operations such as production, talent hiring, marketing, ad sales, and digital policies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Implement and manage legal technology systems and templates to enhance departmental efficiency.
Eligibility
- LL.B. or post-graduate qualification in Law from a reputed institution.
- 3–5+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in the Media & Entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of content licensing, commercial transactions, and media rights.
