Details of the Job/Internship
Metalegal Advocates is hiring an Associate – Litigation with experience of 0-2 years to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Appear before various judicial and quasi-judicial fora including the Bombay High Court, NCLT, Sessions Court, and other relevant authorities.
- Handle procedural aspects of litigation, including filing, service, and liaising with court clerks and registry.
- Draft legal pleadings, including replies, applications, appeals, and writ petitions before High Courts, tax authorities, and subordinate courts.
- Conduct legal research and prepare internal notes, briefs, and opinions.
- Assist senior advocates, legal executives, and other team members in litigation strategy, planning, coordination, and execution of matters.
- Maintain accurate time recording, case management, and compliance with internal documentation protocols.
- Contribute to content creation for the firm’s website, publications, and other digital platforms.
Eligibility
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognised university.
- Mandatory enrolment with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in handling litigation matters in Mumbai.
- Prior exposure to proceedings before the Bombay High Court, NCLT, and Sessions Court is desirable.
- Strong command over spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in Marathi is preferred but not mandatory.
- Sound knowledge of court procedures and litigation practice.
- Familiarity with Criminal Law, IBC, Company Law, and Tax Laws.
- Well-versed with online court systems, legal databases, e-filing platforms, and digital listing mechanisms.
- Excellent legal drafting and research capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-handling skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail.
