Details of the Job/Internship
Sinha & Company is hiring an Associate for its Litigation Department in Calcutta. The role focuses on handling Original Side matters before the Calcutta High Court, including drafting pleadings, conducting research, and appearing in court.
Role and Responsibilities
- Independently draft pleadings, legal documents, and submissions for court.
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well-reasoned legal opinions.
- Appear before courts and represent clients in Original Side matters.
- Manage case files, maintain client communication, and coordinate with senior counsel.
- Utilize technology tools for e-filing, case tracking, and legal research.
Eligibility
- 3–5 years of substantive litigation experience, particularly in suits, arbitration, and writ matters before the Original Side of the Calcutta High Court.
- Proven ability to independently draft pleadings and conduct legal research.
- Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of e-filing procedures, cause list management, and legal technology tools.
- Ability to manage cases independently and coordinate with senior counsel.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
