Details of the Job/Internship

JPMorganChase is hiring an Associate - Markets Legal with 5+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review and support wholesale financial transactional documentation, including trading, prime brokerage, and derivatives.
• Analyze constitutional documents to verify corporate consents, capacity, and authority before finalization of agreements.
• Provide legal support for global documentation initiatives or remediation projects.
• Conduct gap analysis of negotiated agreements against standardized templates and playbooks to identify deviations.
• Manage escalation mechanisms for transaction-specific discrepancies and remediation exercises.
• Update and maintain internal legal systems and databases with data from standardized or negotiated agreements.
• Draft, review, and finalize legal notices, consents, MOUs, LOIs, and RFPs based on established templates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional teams to achieve common legal and business goals.

Eligibility

• Minimum 5+ years of PQE in professional practice or in-house legal roles.
• Mandatory experience covering Markets-related work in a comparable financial institution.
• Strong legal analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Must be in compliance with all relevant attorney licensing requirements for the jurisdiction.
• Proficiency in legal technology, documentation management systems, and shared databases.
• Ability to work effectively within tight deadlines and metric-driven systems.
• Successful completion of a conflicts of interest clearance review is required.
