Metalegal Advocates is hiring for the position of Associate Partner with 8-10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Corporate Advisory & Compliance

• Act as the principal legal advisor to a wide range of corporate clients across industries.
• Provide guidance on corporate structuring, governance, compliance, and policy development.
• Ensure adherence to corporate laws, SEBI regulations, FEMA, FDI guidelines, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Formulate legal strategies that support business operations and facilitate expansion plans.

Commercial Transactions & Contract Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial documents, including vendor contracts, MOUs, shareholder and investment agreements.
• Lead and structure complex transactions such as M&A, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.
• Ensure all contracts align with legal standards and client business goals.

Dispute Resolution & Regulatory Matters

• Advise on corporate disputes, shareholder conflicts, and contractual disagreements.
• Collaborate with litigation teams to design legal strategies for dispute resolution.
• Handle regulatory filings and coordinate with statutory bodies and compliance agencies.

Strategic Development & Team Leadership

• Contribute to the firm’s overall business growth, innovation, and service delivery strategies.
• Identify areas for operational improvement in legal processes and client engagement.
• Mentor junior team members and foster professional development within the team.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a recognized institution; LL.M. preferred but not mandatory.
• 8–10 years of experience in corporate legal advisory, ideally with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial law, corporate compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes transactions and lead cross-functional legal teams.
• Excellent client relationship management, communication, and leadership skills.
