K.R. Mangalam University is hiring an Assistant / Associate Professor specializing in ADR to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Instruct students in core subjects including the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and International Commercial Arbitration.
- Drive project-based pedagogy by organizing simulation exercises like mock mediation and arbitration hearings.
- Lead the university’s ADR Cell and coach student teams for national and international mediation competitions.
- Conduct and publish high-quality research on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) and emergency arbitral awards.
- Develop specialized certificate courses on drafting ADR clauses and effective negotiation strategies.
- Regularly update the ADR curriculum to reflect the latest judicial pronouncements and legislative amendments.
- Invite industry experts and empanelled arbitrators to engage with students through masterclasses.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary research involving the intersection of AI and dispute resolution.
- Promote gender-sensitive approaches to conflict resolution and restorative justice.
Eligibility
- LL.M. with a specialization in ADR, Corporate Law, or Commercial Law.
- Ph.D. in Law (completed or at an advanced stage) focused on dispute resolution is highly preferred.
- Qualification in National Eligibility Test (NET) or equivalent state-level eligibility.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, and the UNCITRAL Model Law.
- Practical understanding of the New Delhi International Arbitration Centre (NDIAC) rules.
- Prior teaching experience at a recognized law school or professional experience as a certified mediator/arbitrator.
