JGLS is inviting applications for the full-time faculty positions of Associate Professor (Law)/Associate Professor of Legal Practice in the following subject areas:

• Mergers and Acquisitions.
• Company law.
• Insolvency Law.
• Legal Methods.
• Jurisprudence.
• Constitution Law.
• Constitutional Theory.
• Principles of Accounting.
• Corporate Finance.
• Civil Procedure Code.
• Drafting Pleading Conveyancing.
• Legal Research Methodology.
• Law and Justice.
• Criminal Psychology.
• Political Theory.

Role and Responsibilities

• A proven ability to produce internationally peer-reviewed publications, with a clear plan for continuing high-quality research upon hiring.
• A proven perception of and commitment to innovative, inclusive, experiential and interdisciplinary pedagogy for graduate/undergraduate courses, combining Law subjects with other disciplines.
• Associate Professors are expected to plan and teach lectures or classes for undergraduate and/or graduate students during term time and prepare lecture notes, course materials, and reading lists as needed; and to set and grade marked assignments and examinations.
• Interest in the mentorship of junior faculty and students.
• Interest in institution-building.
• For those with experience in the profession of law through firms or litigation: strong networks in the profession with the potential for collaborative academia-profession ventures.
• Commitment towards the University's goals and objectives.

Eligibility

• They are interested in hiring LL.M./Ph.D (or equivalent) graduates who have graduated or are graduating in 2024/2025.
• Eligible candidates who are willing to take up teaching and research assignments and are ready to join in Fall 2025 are invited to apply.
• The candidate shall be willing to take up a full time teaching assignment and shall have a strong commitment to excel in teaching and scholarly research.
• JGU considers research an integral part of teaching.
• The University has comprehensive policies on research & publication for motivating and incentivizing faculty members to undertake & contribute in research.
