Details of the Job/Internship
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. is hiring an Associate Regional Counsel – West to support regional legal operations, including due diligence, lease execution, registration, and litigation management.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence, risk assessment, and preparation of risk/deviation notes for properties.
- Mentor and review the work of Junior Regional Counsels (JRCs).
- Collaborate with external counsels on property risks, litigation strategies, and documentation.
- Vet all documentation proposed for submission to courts or authorities.
- Ensure timely registration of leases and maintenance of regional legal databases.
- Assist in negotiations for leases, renewals, and CAM agreements.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving landlord disputes and municipal issues.
- Provide legal advisory to Retail, Finance, and HR teams for ongoing matters.
- Monitor regional litigations and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reports.
- Assist in developing SOPs for leasing and retail compliance processes.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Experience in property due diligence, leasing, and litigation preferred.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external counsels.
- Proficient in maintaining legal databases and managing documentation.
