Details of the Job/Internship

DIAGEO India is hiring an Associate Vice President, Legal with experience of 12+ years to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead the legal function for shared services offices in Bangalore and Gurgaon, providing counsel on HR, IT, Finance, and CSR.
• Supervise the negotiation and execution of complex commercial agreements, including SaaS, real estate, and outsourcing deals.
• Serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for India, ensuring compliance with the DPDP Act and GDPR.
• Act as the Company Secretary for the India legal entity, managing board meetings, statutory registers, and RoC filings.
• Provide legal oversight for internal investigations, including whistleblower complaints, fraud, and POSH requirements.
• Manage and mentor a team of in-house counsel and procurement-focused legal professionals.
• Implement and own Diageo’s global legal policies, such as Anti-bribery and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators, and external legal advisors.

Eligibility

• Indian-qualified lawyer with a minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Background in both law firm and in-house roles within a multinational company is preferred.
• Proven expertise in Labor Law, corporate governance, and data privacy regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading legal support for centralized functions or shared services.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to act as a strategic advisor to senior business heads.
