Details of the Job/Internship

Ashwathh Legal is hiring an Associate with experience of 1 to 2 years to join their office in New Delhi.

The primary day-to-day requirement of this position is supporting the Litigation Team in various contentious matters as well as in Anti Counterfeit Investigations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • General IP litigation (trademarks, copyrights, disparagement matters, etc.) and appearing before High Courts and District Courts.
  • Participate in Anti-Counterfeiting investigations, including strategy formulation, dealing with investigators, preparing investigation reports and assisting with Enforcement actions - Criminal/ Civil Raids.
  • Legal research & drafting.
  • Preparing Case briefs and supporting the team in briefing Senior Counsel.
  • Keeping a watch on all Litigation matters of the firm, maintaining deadlines on deliverables, and communicating on an ongoing basis with the clients and the Litigation team.
  • Overall assistance to the Litigation team and enhancing the firm’s litigation and anti-counterfeiting investigations practice.

Eligibility

  • LLB degree from a reputed Law School.
  • 1-2 years of IP litigation and anti-counterfeiting investigations experience in an IP law firm.
  • Core understanding of IPR / Technology laws, Litigation proceedings, and Commercial filings.
  • Experience of appearing and representing before the relevant forums such as the Delhi High Court and District Courts.
  • Proficient in drafting commercial suits and pleadings.
  • Experience in conducting anti-counterfeiting investigations, criminal/ civil raids and preparing investigation reports.
  • Knowledge of pertinent case laws, precedents, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Savvy with Technology and working with electronic files.
  • Expertise in using MS Office (primarily Word, but also Excel & PPT) and Adobe Acrobat / PDF documents (including editing, bookmarking, pagination, etc.)
  • Keen understanding and ability to comply with confidentiality obligations and working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent multi-tasking skills.
