Details of the Job/Internship

GIST Impact is looking for a candidate for the position of Associate - Legal and Compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft and review contracts, ensuring they align with company policies, legal requirements and timelines. Maintain an organized contract directory to facilitate easy access and management of documents and assist the Legal and Compliance department in smooth functioning.
• Compliance Policy Development: Assist in the development and enforcement of robust compliance policies and procedures, ensuring the organisation complies with legal standards and internal guidelines.
• Risk Management: Regularly conduct compliance and risk assessments to identify potential issues and vulnerabilities. Assist in developing and implementing effective corrective measures to mitigate risks.
• Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to embed compliance and legal considerations in operational planning and execution, ensuring a cohesive approach to risk management.
• Issue Resolution: Proactively assist in managing and resolving compliance and operational issues as they arise, in coordination with legal and other relevant departments.
• Training and Support: Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to staff on compliance matters and operaƟonal procedures, enhancing the overall compliance culture within the organisation.
• Project Management: Assist in managing specific projects related to compliance requirements, in addition to routine legal and compliance tasks, ensuring that the company meets its legal obligations in all areas of operation.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business administration, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in legal and compliance roles, with a proven track record in contract management and compliance enforcement. Experience within the Sustainability sector will be considered a significant advantage.
• The candidate must have a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel skills. This includes the ability to perform data analysis, create reports and support legal and compliance activities.
• In-depth knowledge of laws such as GDPR and other contract-related legal requirements, with a firm commitment to upholding high ethical standards and ensuring confidentality.
• Quick Learner and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively across different departments. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
