Details of the Job/Internship
Khaitan & Co. is hiring an Associate with experience of 2 to 3 years to join their office in New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Being conversant with the facts of the client matters, including performing legal research and analysis and sourcing expert opinion.
- Ability to prepare a note for arguments on the matter with relevant judgments and control the flow of information regarding the case.
- Ability to brief the case to the senior counsel/ team senior.
- Understanding of matter details and the client requirements, strategically counsel clients and potential clients on legal matters, provide regular updates to the clients, adhere timelines, preparing documentation before a client meeting, coordinate with the team for documentation and client briefing.
- Prepare, review and negotiate pleadings / drafts and filing with the appropriate fora, discuss the structure/ strategy with team / senior with proper application of legal proposition with an understanding of client's requirement, identify legal or contractual.
Eligibility
- Qualified LLB or LLM from a premier law school in India / abroad (qualified to work in India).
- 2-3 years of demonstrated experience of civil / commercial litigation with good procedural knowledge of SC/HC, and arbitration experience with a Tier 1 law firm / reputed Chambers.
- Knowing the basics fundamentals of but not limited to CPC, Arbitration Act, Contract Act, Specific Relief Act, Limitation Act, Insolvency Code, Evidence Act, Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
- Stickler for timelines of assignments and a multi-tasker able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Solution-oriented approach with proven ability to close transactions independently with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - with a proven ability to communicate to all "clients" (internal and external).
