Details of the Job/Internship
Metalegal Advocates is hiring an Associate for its Taxation – Litigation & Advisory practice in Mumbai. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on advising clients, managing litigation, and handling compliance and regulatory matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advise clients on direct and indirect taxation matters (Income Tax, GST, Customs, etc.).
- Provide legal counsel on tax disputes, compliance issues, and regulatory proceedings.
- Draft appeals, replies, petitions, applications, rejoinders, legal advisories, memos, and other court documents.
- Manage case documentation professionally and adapt to digital tools such as Zoho and Microsoft Teams.
- Support clients through litigation, investigations, quasi-judicial proceedings, and general tax advisory matters.
- Conduct legal research and handle filings before tax authorities and tribunals in coordination with clerks and support staff.
- Contribute to the firm’s knowledge database through case law compilations, statute summaries, and white papers.
Eligibility
- Qualified Advocate (LL.B.) enrolled with the Bar Council of India or a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 1–3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Effective communication and drafting skills, analytical approach, and ethical mindset.
- Strong passion for learning and building expertise in taxation laws.
