Details of the Job/Internship
NAIR IP LLP is hiring a Patent Associate with experience of 1–5 years to join their office in Mumbai. The position is based in Andheri East and will be conducted in offline mode. Fresh qualified patent agents with strong academic backgrounds will also be considered.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and prosecute patent applications, including provisional, complete, and PCT national phase entries.
- Conduct patentability searches, prior art analysis, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
- Respond to examination reports, office actions, and hearings before the Indian Patent Office.
- Assist in patent portfolio management and client advisory on IP strategy.
- Coordinate with foreign associates for international filings and oppositions.
- Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and technical experts.
Eligibility
- Must be a registered Indian Patent Agent qualified under the Indian Patent Act.
- Degree in Science/Engineering (preferably B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. or higher in relevant technical fields such as Electronics, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, etc.).
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with mandatory English fluency.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Prior experience in patent drafting or prosecution is highly desirable but not essential for strong candidates.
