Details of the Job/Internship
PLR Chambers is looking for candidates for the position of associate to join their Food Laws and Product Compliance team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advise clients on mandatory and voluntary standards, certifications, and legal requirements for their products, including those set by the Bureau of Indian Standards, FSSAI, and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct thorough reviews of product formulations, ingredients, labels, claims, and packaging to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Represent clients in strategic litigation and conflict resolution matters related to product compliance and regulatory affairs.
- Prepare impact analysis reports, representations, and comparative studies on relevant laws, regulations, and protections.
- Offer crisis management support and guidance during legal, regulatory, and compliance issues.
- Provide legal opinions, advice, and representation on all aspects of product compliance, regulatory affairs, and related matters.
- Stay up-to-date with current and emerging laws, regulations, and industry standards related to various product categories, and advise clients on preemptive measures to mitigate risks from future regulatory changes.
- Conduct research and provide advisory services on domestic and international regulatory requirements impacting clients' products and operations.
- Assist and advise clients during safety checks, inspections, and audits by regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with trade licenses, registrations, and permissions required for conducting business operations.
- Assist clients in obtaining necessary licenses, registrations, approvals, and clearances for manufacturing, importing, exporting, selling, and distributing products in India and international markets.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies, procedures, and documentation accordingly.
Eligibility
- LLB/LLM degree from a recognized law school.
- Ability to work autonomously, guided by Senior Associate/Counsel/Partner instructions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
