Sarin & Co. is one of India’s oldest and leading law firms specializing in Indian and International Law. Originally established by Late Mr. Harbans Lal Sarin in Lahore (now in Pakistan) in the year 1932, the firm shifted to Shimla after the partition of undivided India. Sarin & Co. finally moved to Chandigarh, India when the city was inaugurated as the symbol of a new India in the early 1950s. The firm has a branch office in New Delhi as well.
Details of the Job/Internship
Sarin & Co. is hiring an Associate with experience of 3 to 5 years to join their office in New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide advice on law, legal/regulatory procedures, and a wide range of associated issues to our clients. This will, inter alia, include drawing up / reviewing contracts, other legal documents and representing clients in tribunals and in Courts where required.
- Prepare various letters and other documents that are required to be submitted to various authorities such as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
- Develop relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client’s businesses, economic drivers, market, and sector requirements in order to ensure the advice offered is relevant and commercially sound.
- Be a brand ambassador of the Firm by attending industry conferences and engaging with prospective clients. Attendance and engagement at such conferences/events is essential.
- Respect Partners, team members, and clients alike and in doing so earn the respect of the Firm, team members and clients.
- Be able to demonstrate that they can work remotely without significant supervision and have developed a particular strength and reputation in their current work area.
- Successfully run projects that involve other people in the Firm.
- The candidate would be required to actively procure work and thereby contribute to the success of the Firm.
Eligibility
- A qualified Advocate with a license to practice law. Minimum three to five years of experience in asset finance, aircraft leasing and finance with either a law firm or airline or other similar organisation.
- Able to deal sympathetically and appropriately with clients and to show empathy with them.
- Must be able to multitask and keep calm under pressure.
- Must possess the flexibility to work outside normal office hours as may be required from time-to-time and travel as and when required.
