Details of the Job/Internship
Shankar and Associates is hiring an Associate with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join its New Delhi office. This is a full-time, on-site position. The Associate will be, inter alia, responsible for legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting in court proceedings. The role also involves client interaction, case preparation, and providing legal advice under the guidance of seniors.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Draft and review legal documents and pleadings.
- Assist in court proceedings.
- Prepare cases and supporting documentation.
- Interact with clients.
- Provide legal assistance and advice under the guidance of seniors.
Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of experience with a law chamber or Advocate.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents and pleadings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel, including shortcuts to reduce typing time and preparation of documents.
- Ability to take dictation in MS Word at a speed of at least 55–60 WPM to enable quick correction of first drafts.
- Knowledge of legal procedures and court processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- A law degree from a recognized institution.
- Pro-active and self-starter.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Membership with the Bar Council and AIBE exam cleared.
- Prior experience in litigation is mandatory for the current position.
- Own conveyance is a plus.
