Details of the Job/Internship

Sujata Chaudhri IP Attorneys is looking for an Associate with 2-4 years of PQE for its hashtag#Patents & hashtag#Designs team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conducting prior art searches using industry databases (Orbit, Patseer), developing search strategies, and providing opinions.
• Preparing reports and opinions on Freedom-to-Operate, Invalidity, Patentability, etc.
• Performing claim-to-product mapping for infringement analysis and opinion.
• Analyzing search results as per client needs, including competitor activity, whitespace analysis, and technology landscape analysis. 
• Creating an understanding of an invention based on IDF, and drafting patent specifications (provisional and complete) from such initial descriptions.
• Preparing for, and assisting with, filing patent applications in India and PCT applications, FER responses, patent prosecution, and hearings.
• Preparing for, and assisting with pre/post-grant opposition matters.
• Applying for and obtaining design registration in India.
•  Advising clients on patent and design-related queries.
• Supporting the litigation team with technical expertise as well as nuances of patent and design law in infringement/piracy and revocation/ cancellation matters.
• Contributing to non-billable initiatives, such as article writing, and legal updates for various publications and fora.

Eligibility

• 2-4 years of PQE for its hashtag#Patents & hashtag#Designs team.
• The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, an avid learner, curious, and growth-oriented. He/ she should have the ability to juggle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. Having excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
• B.Tech/ BE/ M.Sc./ M.Tech. (Electronics or computer science background); Registered Patent Agent; LLB preferred

Salary/Stipend
