The practice focuses on a diverse range of dispute resolution matters, representing the government's interests across various high-stakes forums. It serves as a hub for litigation practice, offering deep exposure to constitutional, commercial, and criminal law through appearances in courts, tribunals, and commissions.
Details of the Job/Internship
The Chambers is hiring Associates with 2–4 years of litigation experience to manage a broad spectrum of writ, commercial, and criminal matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct high-level legal research and draft various litigation documents (petitions, written statements, and counter-affidavits).
- Handle daily court-handling responsibilities, including arguing matters across various Courts, tribunals, and commissions.
- Engage in strategic planning for complex writ and commercial cases.
- Work closely with the Senior Counsel to represent the Union of India and other clients effectively.
- Maintain high standards of professional punctuality and ethical conduct.
Eligibility
- 2–4 years of active litigation experience.
- Strong skills in legal research, drafting, and courtroom handling.
- A genuine passion for developing a career as a courtroom lawyer.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with Standing Counsel or Government Counsel.
- Must demonstrate honesty, punctuality, and a proactive willingness to self-learn.
