Details of the Job/Internship

Trilegal is hiring an Associate / Senior Associate in its Labour and Employment Law practice for its Mumbai office. The role involves advising clients across sectors on complex employment matters in a constantly evolving legislative environment. The practice is consistently recognised as one of India’s leading labour and employment practices by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IBLJ, IDEX, Asian Legal Business, Who’s Who Legal, and Asia Law.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advising on employee compensation and benefits, remuneration and retention policies, and compliance with social security laws.
• Providing guidance on leave entitlements, wage and hour regulations, and senior management hiring and exits.
• Assisting with workforce reorganisations, right-sizing exercises, and business closures.
• Conducting employment-related due diligence and advising on employee transfers in business acquisitions.
• Drafting and structuring employment contracts, engagement models, separation and exit documentation, restrictive covenants, employee handbooks, and policies.
• Advising on arrangements involving contract workers and contingent workforce.
• Handling disciplinary matters, trade union disputes, and settlements.
• Representing clients before provident fund and other regulatory authorities and advising on immigration issues.
• Conducting labour audits, disciplinary inquiries, and white-collar employee investigations.

Eligibility

• Qualified lawyer enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
• Post-qualification experience of 2 to 6 years in employment law practice.
