Details of the Job/Internship
Redwood Valuation Partners is hiring an Associate / Sr. Associate – Litigation Support Valuation with experience of 2–4 years to join their office in Remote / Hybrid India. The role involves working with U.S.-based senior professionals on active litigation and dispute engagements, building and documenting financial and valuation models, performing analytical work using incomplete or disorganised financial information, and supporting expert conclusions through detailed modelling, research, and documentation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Support valuation and forensic accounting engagements involving closely held businesses, partnership interests, and complex asset structures.
- Build and maintain Excel-based models, including income approach, market approach, asset-based analyses, and economic damages calculations.
- Perform forensic accounting procedures under supervision, including tracing cash flows, identifying and normalising personal or disputed expenses, reconstructing financial records, analysing related-party transactions, and organising discovery materials.
- Reconcile general ledgers, tax returns, and financial statements to ensure consistency.
- Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers with clear documentation and audit trails.
- Draft technical sections of internal memoranda and valuation reports for senior review.
- Conduct industry and market research to support valuation assumptions.
- Perform quality control procedures on calculations, assumptions, and data integrity.
- Coordinate with U.S.-based team members across time zones and meet litigation deadlines.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in valuation, litigation support, forensic accounting, or dispute-related financial analysis.
- Direct experience supporting marital dissolution matters or other litigation engagements.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, financial modelling, and data reconciliation.
- Demonstrated experience in financial tracing and reconstruction of financial records.
- Experience performing calculations common in dispute settings, including income normalisation, personal goodwill analysis, support calculations, or damages modelling.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Strong written English skills for drafting technical content in expert reports.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with U.S. litigation processes, discovery materials, and evidentiary standards is preferred.
- Progress toward or interest in professional credentials such as CA, CPA, CFA, CVA, ASA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in areas such as marital dissolution valuations, forensic accounting, economic damages, shareholder disputes, estate and gift tax valuations, or restructuring-related valuations is desirable.
