Details of the Job/Internship
Pinnacle Group, Inc. is hiring an Attorney for a hybrid role in the Greater Bengaluru Area. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data privacy law, compliance, or a related field.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain global data privacy policies and programs to ensure compliance with Indian and international data protection laws.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential data privacy vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide legal counsel on data protection matters, including cross-border data transfers, vendor agreements, and data subject rights.
- Draft and review data processing agreements, privacy notices, and other compliance-related documents.
- Monitor evolving data privacy laws and regulatory changes in India and internationally, advising internal teams on necessary policy and operational adjustments.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, HR, and business leaders to promote a culture of data privacy awareness and ensure compliance across all departments.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and data breach incidents in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Train employees and stakeholders on data privacy best practices, policies, and legal requirements.
- Support contract negotiations related to data protection clauses with clients, vendors, and partners.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university in India; LL.M or certifications in data privacy are a plus.
- Licensed to practice law in India.
- 5+ years of experience in data privacy law, compliance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the DPDP Act, GDPR, CCPA, and other global data protection laws.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, handling regulatory inquiries, and managing compliance programs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft legal documents and advise stakeholders clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and cybersecurity considerations is a plus.
- Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or relevant Indian privacy law certifications are preferred.
