Details of the Job/Internship

International Asset Reconstruction Company is hiring a Head – Legal with experience of 15+ years to lead the entire legal function of the organisation. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organisation’s legal function including litigation, recovery actions, and corporate legal matters.
• Handle customer escalations with legal implications and respond to legal notices from borrowers.
• Draft and review corporate agreements, vendor agreements, service contracts, and agreements related to HR, finance, and technology.
• Manage transaction and investment documentation including assignment agreements and investment agreements.
• Conduct legal due diligence for mortgage and non-mortgage loan portfolios including review of title reports, charge creation, and enforceability of security.
• Initiate legal notices and recovery proceedings and monitor litigation processes and legal operations.
• Manage advocate panels and coordinate with external counsel.
• Oversee filing and management of cases before DRT, DRAT, arbitration forums, civil courts, police authorities, and local courts.
• Support execution of legal orders including possession, enforcement actions, and implementation of Section 14.
• Coordinate with regional legal managers and stakeholders for effective litigation execution.

Eligibility

• Minimum 15+ years of legal experience.
• Experience in ARC, banking, or NBFC legal functions is preferred.
• Experience managing secured and unsecured loan recovery litigation.
• Expertise in SARFAESI and DRT matters.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong legal risk assessment capabilities.
• Team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
