Details of the Organization
The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy and Research (CELAR), the first of its kind in North-East India, is devoted to strengthening and contributing to the jurisprudence on environmental law, under the auspices of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. CELAR endeavours to be a torchbearer of NLUJAA’s mission to translate legal knowledge and skills into an instrument that addresses various environmental concerns of the country and especially the North-Eastern region of India.

CELAR Blog is a platform initiated by the Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy and Research. The blog serves as a dynamic hub for disseminating insights and analyses on contemporary issues within environmental law and its interconnected domains. Committed to fostering informed discourse, we invite contributions that delve into emerging conflicts, dissect recent cases, explore legislative advancements, and illuminate evolving legal landscapes pertaining to the environment. The blog aims to foster a community dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. It strives to educate, inspire, and engage our readers in meaningful conversations about the pressing issues facing our planet today.

Types of Submission and Word Limit
- Articles should be between 1200 and 1500 words long and include a short abstract of up to 50 to 100 words.
- The abstract should only be submitted through the submission form and not included in the main article.
- Longer articles may be considered for publication on a case-by-case basis with the permission of the editor.
Submission Guidelines
- The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy, and Research (CELAR), at the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA), operates the CELAR Blog to publish the latest updates relating to environmental law and allied areas. We prefer articles based on emerging conflicts in environmental law, notes about recent cases, recent legislation, or recent legal developments related to the environment. We prioritize analytical posts over descriptive ones. Consideration for publication will be based on multiple factors, such as relevance, quality, structure, logical coherence, and writing style.
- Co-authorship of up to (2) authors is allowed.
Formatting Guidelines
- The submissions must be in an MS Word document formatted using Times New Roman font size 12 and line spacing 1.5.
- The file name must be “Title_CELAR Blog”. The short title must capture the essence of the submission and not be longer than ten words.
- Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) (4th edition) style in the footnotes. The following formatting is to be followed: Font - Times New Roman, Size - 10, Single Spacing between all lines.
