RGNUL, Punjab has itself been established as the Nodal Center of Academics and Professionalism in legal education and is yet to establish itself in specialising in Intellectual Property Clinics (IP Clinics). Efforts by RGNUL to create enabling milieu by way of modernizing the IPR infrastructure as well as implementing various programs for the creation of awareness among the professionals as well as general public will be a mile stone of success.
CIIPR aims at teaching and promoting research in the IPR specialization course which is to synergize all types of IPRs in all the fields of sciences, technologies, engineering and another field of studies and further promote innovations in the interest of all the stakeholders.
Details of the Blog/Paper
CIIPR accepts submissions on a rolling basis. The subject of the submission should deal with any contemporary and pertinent development related to Intellectual Property Rights. Submissions may be in the form of articles, opinions, case comments, and short notes. Further, submissions analysing or critiquing already existing academic research on a topic or issue are also welcome. Purely descriptive pieces are discouraged. Manuscripts will be evaluated majorly based on originality, novelty, structure, analysis and argumentation. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the manuscript if the manuscript does not fulfil these criteria.
Types of Submission and Word Limit
They welcome submissions on the following:
- Articles and analytical pieces.
- Case comments.
- Short notes.
- Critiques or reviews of existing academic research.
Purely descriptive works are discouraged, as we emphasize originality, critical analysis, and structured argumentation.Submissions can be up to 1500 words, exclusive of endnotes. The stipulated word limited is flexible subject to Editor’s discretion in exceptional cases.
Submission Guidelines
- Co-authorship of a maximum of two authors is allowed.
- All submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarism of any kind
- will lead to disqualification of submission. The author(s) will bear sole responsibility for the accuracy of facts, opinions, or views stated in the submitted manuscript.
- Authors shall refrain from referring to themselves in the first person in the manuscript. Further, while referring to case laws, authors are encouraged to use the names of the parties instead of referring them as “petitioners” , “appellants ” , “respondents ”, etc.
- The Submission will be accepted via google forms.
Formatting Guidelines
- Submissions shall be typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 12 with line spacing of 1.5 with justified alignment.
- All references must be in the form of hyperlinks, linked to keywords or phrases in the manuscript. If no hyperlink is available, endnotes should be used for reference. Speaking endnotes or footnotes are strictly prohibited. All relevant sources which are available as open-source documents such as judgments, laws, reports, articles and other sources shall be provided as hyperlinks within the main text of the document itself. However, where a source is not available as an open-source document, the same shall be cited by providing an endnote instead of a footnote.
- The latest edition of the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) shall be followed for citations, and endnotes shall be typewritten in Times New Roman, font size 10, single line spacing, and justified alignment.
- The author shall maintain anonymity throughout the article and shall not disclose his/her name, institution’s name or any other information that identifies the author in the file containing the article.
- Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited and the submission shall be original, unpublished, and an outcome of the author’s own efforts. Manuscripts with high AI similarity level shall be summarily rejected.
- Author(s) shall divest the copyright of the manuscript to IPR Law Review Centre for Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, once the manuscript has been selected for publication. However, all moral rights shall remain with the author(s). Author(s) shall refrain from submitting the manuscript elsewhere during the pendency of the review process. If the theme of the manuscript is contemporaneous to the time of submission and a delayed publication would render the research irrelevant, the author(s) may request an expedited review of their submission.
