The International Journal of Law, Culture and Society (IJLCS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal established by distinguished alumni and students of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).
IJLCS advances scholarship that examines how legal norms interact with cultural values, social change, technological transformation, and global governance. The journal is published quarterly and adheres to COPE ethical guidelines, strict plagiarism standards, and a double-blind peer-review process.

The Editorial Board of the International Journal of Law, Culture and Society (IJLCS) invites original, unpublished manuscripts for Volume II – Issue I. Following the encouraging scholarly response to its earlier issues, IJLCS continues to provide a rigorous interdisciplinary forum for research at the intersection of law, culture, and social transformation.

Types of Submission and Word Limit
- Research Articles: 4,000–8,000 words.
- Case Notes / Legislative Reviews: 2,000–4,000 words.
- Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words.
- Short Commentaries: up to 2,000 words.
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be original scholarly work and must not have been previously published, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts are subjected to rigorous plagiarism screening. Any submission with a similarity index exceeding 15% (excluding references) will be rejected outright.
- The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for generating, drafting, or substantially modifying the manuscript is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts found to contain AI-generated or AI-assisted content will be immediately rejected, and such submissions may be barred from future consideration by the journal.
Formatting Guidelines
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
- Line Spacing: 1.5.
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
- Headings: Numbered with consistent hierarchy.
- Citation Style: Harvard Bluebook (20th Edition).
Registration Fees (if any)
The International Journal of Law, Culture and Society (IJLCS) follows an open-access publication model. To support editorial management, peer review, and publication costs, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only after the manuscript is accepted.
For Indian Authors:
- Single Author: ₹1,500.
- Two Authors: ₹2,000.
For International Authors:
- Single Author: USD 40.
- Two Authors: USD 50.
Note: There is no submission fee.
