The National Law Institute University is a premier law school, and a center for research located in Bhopal, India. Established in 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh, it is one of the first three law schools to have been established under the National Law University system. Since its inception, NLIU has earned a reputation as a premier institution providing quality legal education and engaging in research in cutting-edge areas of law. In its journey, the university has carved out a niche for itself in terms of academic excellence and the successful placement of its students. Today, NLIU stands as one of the most reputed legal institutions in India and is consistently rated as one of the best law universities in the country.

Details of the Blog/Paper

The Journal is an annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed publication of CPS. It aims to generate interest in the realm of constitutional law, administrative law, and public policy research. The Journal fosters academic discussions on areas related to constitutional law, administrative law, parliamentary studies, and public policy. 
The foreword for our inaugural edition was written by Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The inaugural edition of the Journal was released on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of the founding NLIU by the Director of the National Judicial Academy, Justice A.P. Sahi. The Commencement Note for the 2nd edition was written by Padma Shri Dr. T.K. Viswanathan.

JLDPR welcomes original, contemporary, analytical, and unpublished manuscripts on constitutional law, legislative drafting, parliamentary research, and public policy from students, academicians, and professionals. The submissions are expected to be of contemporary relevance and must demonstrate high standards of academic scholarship. 

Types of Submission and Word Limit

• The manuscripts may be submitted in the following manner (the below-mentioned word limit is exclusive of the footnotes):

1. ​ Long Article: 5000 – 10,000 words;
2. Short Article: 3000 – 5000 words;
3. Case Comments: 1500 – 3000 words;
4. Legislative Briefs: 1500 – 3000 words.

• Co-authorship up to a maximum of three authors is permitted.
• All manuscripts submitted must be original and unpublished. 
• Plagiarism of content as well as that of an idea would lead to a direct rejection of the manuscript. 
• The authors shall not disclose their identity anywhere in the body of the manuscript.
• The Executive Board of CPS may, at its sole discretion, allow for manuscripts that do not substantially deviate from the given word limits to be considered for publication.
• The submissions are to be made only in Microsoft Word Format (.docx or .doc files) by filling the given form. Soft copies should be submitted by 10 December 2024. 

Submission Guidelines

• The submitted document must include an abstract not exceeding 300 words in the beginning, highlighting the structure and the essence of the manuscript. The abstract is exclusive of the word limit of the manuscript.
• Headings and sub-headings will be formatted with a case size of 12 in Times New Roman and Bold. 
• The body of the writing will be formatted with case size 12 in Times New Roman. 
• Footnotes shall follow the line spacing of 1, and the rest of the manuscript shall follow the line spacing of 1.5. 
• All referencing and footnoting shall strictly adhere to the standards laid down in the Oxford 
• University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (4th ed.). Substantive footnoting is impermissible.
