Details of the Job/Internship
Agrim Housing Finance is looking for a candidate for the position of Chief Compliance Officer to join them at their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, including:
- RBI guidelines for Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs).
- State-specific housing and land acquisition regulations.
- Monitor compliance with government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Credit Linked Subsidy Schemes (CLSS), and tax incentives under the Income Tax Act.
- Design and implement robust compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and ensure alignment with internal and external standards.
- Provide legal counsel on affordable housing projects, loan agreements, and subsidy programs.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, MOUs, and JV agreements.
- Manage legal disputes related to land acquisition, project financing, or regulatory breaches.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify potential risks in housing finance projects.
- Develop strategies to mitigate financial, legal, and reputational risks.
- Train employees on regulatory requirements, fair housing practices, and ethical standards.
- Promote awareness of compliance policies across the organization.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities such as the RBI, NHB, and Ministry of Housing.
- Liaise with government bodies, industry associations, and external legal counsel.
- Work closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure compliance in all activities.
- Engage with external auditors, developers, and financial partners to address compliance requirements.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; a Master’s degree (LLM) is preferred.
- 7–10 years of experience in compliance, legal advisory, or regulatory roles.
- Proven track record in affordable housing finance, real estate, or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; a Master’s degree (LLM) is preferred. Additional qualifications like CA, CS, or MBA (Finance) are advantageous.
- Expertise in navigating RERA, RBI guidelines, and affordable housing policies.
