Details of the Job/Internship

Areion Group is hiring a Chief Law Officer with 10–15 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai and lead the legal function, advising senior leadership on legal, regulatory, and risk management matters.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the Board, CEO, and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with Indian laws and regulations including Companies Act, SEBI, FEMA, and IBC.
• Vet, draft, and negotiate key legal documents including contracts, shareholder and loan agreements.
• Represent the company in litigations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulators.
• Advise on legal risk and mitigation strategies.
• Lead due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
• Guide internal departments on laws relating to labour, property, taxation, and data protection.
• Manage compliance programs and conduct internal legal audits.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise on implications.
• Train and develop the legal team.

Eligibility

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed Indian university.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of legal experience, preferably with a finance company or reputed law firm.
• Strong understanding of corporate, banking, financial, commercial, and regulatory laws.
• Experience in handling legal issues in regulated sectors.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and interpretation.
• Ethical mindset with strong professional integrity.
• Strategic thinking and solution-oriented approach.

Salary/Stipend
