Details of the Job/Internship

Lawxy is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to serve as its senior-most legal executive and a key member of the leadership team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s overall legal strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Advise the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership on legal, regulatory, and enterprise risk matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws including data privacy, IP, employment, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments impacting the legal-tech and software ecosystem.
• Lead negotiation, drafting, and review of key contracts, partnerships, and licensing agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across products, operations, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, including management of external counsel.
• Ensure sound corporate governance practices, including board processes and shareholder matters.
• Build, mentor, and lead a scalable, high-performing legal team.

Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Law or integrated law degree from a recognized Indian university.
• Enrolled as an Advocate with a State Bar Council in India.
• 10–15+ years of progressive legal experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Prior experience advising technology, software, or regulated companies preferred.
• Strong expertise in compliance, contracts, IP, data privacy, and regulatory matters.
• Strategic mindset with strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Salary/Stipend
