Details of the Job/Internship

Serentica is hiring for the position of  Chief Manager - Litigation with 8-12 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Litigation Management

• Handle litigation across diverse areas: RoW compensation (Electricity & Telegraph Act), land acquisition, arbitration, constitutional matters, contractual disputes, and criminal cases.
• Represent or assist in matters before High Courts (Writ), District Courts, DRT, Claim Tribunals, Consumer Forums, and other judicial bodies.
• Draft, vet, and finalize SLPs, writ petitions, civil suits, criminal complaints, claim petitions, counter-affidavits, replies, and replications.
• Brief and coordinate with senior/external counsels; track updates and progress on pending matters.
• Manage high-stakes and critical litigation with a strategic approach aligned with company objectives.

Legal Advisory & Risk Management

• Provide timely and pragmatic legal advice supported by current laws and judicial precedents.
• Conduct thorough risk analysis before entering into commercial and financial agreements.
• Ensure company’s compliance with all statutory and legal requirements by advising management on rights, risks, and liabilities.

Contract & Documentation

• Draft and negotiate contracts in line with business requirements.
• Ensure all agreements comply with relevant laws and industry standards.
• Develop and update standard templates for recurring contractual requirements.

Monitoring & Control

• Prepare and monitor Legal MIS as a control mechanism for tracking litigation and legal cases.
• Optimize dispute resolution processes for efficient, cost-effective outcomes.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognized institution.
• 8–12 years of extensive litigation experience.
• Strong background in the power sector with exposure to construction/EPC/infrastructure matters.
• Preferred candidates: from infrastructure companies or reputed law firms.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
