Sterlite is hiring a Chief Manager - Litigation with 8-12 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
Litigation Management
- Handle diverse litigation matters including RoW compensation (under the Electricity and Telegraph Acts), land acquisition disputes, arbitration, constitutional matters, contractual claims, and criminal cases.
- Represent or support legal proceedings before Writ Courts, District Courts, DRT, Consumer Forums, Claim Tribunals, and other judicial/quasi-judicial authorities.
Legal Drafting & Review
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents including SLPs, writ petitions, civil suits, criminal complaints, claim petitions, counter affidavits, replies, and rejoinders.
- Draft and review commercial contracts and ensure they comply with applicable legal standards. Prepare and maintain updated contract templates for recurring use.
Counsel Coordination
- Liaise with senior advocates and external legal counsel to ensure effective representation.
- Brief counsels thoroughly, track litigation progress, and manage daily updates on ongoing matters.
Strategic Litigation Oversight
- Align litigation strategy with business objectives and manage high-stakes or complex disputes with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Provide legally sound, research-backed advice on litigation risks, potential exposure, and precedents.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure legal compliance across operations by advising business units on statutory obligations and risk exposure.
- Conduct risk analysis of contracts and legal documents before business commitments are made.
MIS & Reporting
- Maintain and monitor litigation MIS to track open matters, deadlines, risk status, and associated costs.
- Present periodic litigation updates to internal stakeholders to aid decision-making.
Eligibility
- Education: LLB from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 8–12 years of experience managing litigation, preferably in the power, EPC, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Preferred Background: Candidates from the infrastructure sector or with experience in a reputed law firm handling similar matters.
Salary/Stipend
