Details of the Job/Internship
Maersk is hiring a Claims Adjuster with at least 2 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, marine surveying, or insurance to join their Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle cargo claims according to guidelines with a customer-centric yet legally compliant approach.
- Establish and maintain claims handling relationships in the management area.
- Assess, document, and update claims files.
- Drive recovery actions and safeguard rights of recovery.
- Liaise with claimants, recovery agents, lawyers, underwriters, and third-party administrators.
- Manage claims data entry and settlement in line with corporate policies.
- Provide advice and support to local claim desks.
- Maintain high data quality.
- Support loss prevention initiatives.
Eligibility
- Graduate from a recognized university with LLB, LLM, or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, marine surveying, or insurance.
- Knowledge of shipping operations and core claims handling preferred.
- Strong analytical, comprehension, and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of maritime law and regional legal regulations.
- Ability to multitask, take ownership, and work flexibly.
