Details of the Job/Internship
Progress is hiring a Commercial Counsel with 5+ years of experience to join their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the company’s business and legal landscape.
- Advise on contracts including software licenses, cloud subscriptions, and service agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and NDAs with customers, partners, and vendors.
- Create and update contract templates and conduct training for sales teams.
- Provide guidance on commercial disputes and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate on data protection and security compliance agreements.
- Support corporate governance and compliance with public company standards.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks and provide practical business-focused advice.
- Coordinate with internal legal teams and external counsel.
Eligibility
- Law degree from a reputed university.
- Minimum 5 years of in-house commercial legal experience in technology/SaaS sectors.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and business acumen skills.
- Comfortable working independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work US time zone hours.
