Details of the Job/Internship
Nutanix is hiring a Commercial Legal Counsel in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
Role and Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business advisor, contributing to commercial success and growth objectives.
- Review, draft, and negotiate key commercial agreements, including NDAs, software licenses, partner agreements, procurement contracts, service agreements, and strategic alliance agreements.
- Handle complex, high-value commercial transactions and significant procurement deals.
- Work closely with the Legal Department and cross-functional teams to facilitate revenue recognition, mitigate risks, and safeguard intellectual property.
- Provide legal training to staff and oversee relationships with external counsel.
- Monitor contract compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, coordinating with management and internal teams to ensure obligations are met.
- Develop, refine, and maintain contract templates and process documentation for efficiency and consistency.
Eligibility
- 5-10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law, with experience in both a reputable law firm and in-house at a global enterprise technology company.
- Admitted to practice law in one of the APJ jurisdictions.
- Hands-on experience in commercial contracting, covering SaaS, Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and on-premise software licensing.
- Preferably experienced in working with public sector/government, financial services, banking, large enterprise clients, and service vendors.
- Strong negotiation skills, critical thinking, and excellent verbal and written communication.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition rules, accounting standards, and privacy regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Capable of working independently while demonstrating sound judgment in escalating issues when necessary.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Understanding of the Asian market landscape, including cultural and legal differences across Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, ANZ, ASEAN, and Singapore.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
