Morningstar’s Financial Crimes Compliance team is part of the Global Control function within the Compliance department and mitigates the firm’s risks around various financial crime issues in the many diverse jurisdictions where they are located and operate.
Details of the Job/Internship
Morningstar is seeking a Compliance Analyst based in Mumbai reporting to the Director, Financial Crimes Compliance (United States).
Role and Responsibilities
- Perform the screening of Morningstar’s business relationships against international sanctions programs and the review of records concerning adverse media, enforcement proceedings, regulatory actions and other related financial crimes issues.
- Support the implementation of operating procedures for the general operation of the financial crimes compliance program.
- Document and keep records of reviews performed and associated controls.
- Identify records and issues that need to be escalated for further review.
- Work with a global team and interact with employees at various levels of an organization across multiple time zones.
Eligibility
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in compliance and/or regulatory analysis developed in Financial Services, Accounting or Legal professions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Prior experience with Financial Crimes Compliance or AML concepts and issues is a plus.
- Experience in implementation and monitoring adherence to corporate policies, procedures and other guidance documents.
- Ability to work productively both as an individual contributor and as part of a small team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, with varying deadlines, concurrently in conjunction with the other members of the Financial Crimes Compliance team.
- A team player with positive and proactive attitude.
- An openness and desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent command over the English language essential (written and verbal).
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and investigative skills.
